I got the feeling that the last energy is torpedo and there will be another ship to shoot torpedoes at. Now I feel sorry for you people with lives that can't play every 10 min to an 1hr all day everyday like me, I might get area 4 cleared by the time the event is over and I have no idea about area 5. We'll have 2 weeks to clear area 5 (Data), I might get it done. Impossible tasks# 1: Herbert 2: condom 3: area 5?
Star Trek so far (level 7.45) Done* Level 1 Engineering* Level 2 Ten forward* 71: Worf 260 clams
Level 3 Bridge 73: Guinan 200 clams Skimpy sarong Herbert (away missions) 13
Level 4 Sick bay 74: Beverly: 12/28 medical tricorder, 24/55 hypospray, 18/18 laser scalpel Quagmire as Vulcan 1750/1750 D, 18/25 Q-tip, 22/26 book, 9/42. Space condom T'plana-hath Vasquez rocks* 75: Q: 200 clams

It's a slow slog.. I just got the last bag of blow for Lois today.. Finally unlocked. I still need 5 more laser pointers for Locutus . Not even close on Quagmire or Crusher.
I blew 260 clams on Worf but I won't spend any more for Q or Guinan. If I miss out.. Oh well. I'm enjoying it, but I think it's too much of a grind, even for me who plays all day every day. Anyone who can't get in every 4 hours would be straight outta luck.

That's 660 clams for 3 characters (1 time use(less)) and a skin as a bonus (also 1 time use(less)).

Well this event has been a bust so far. Started off good but the grind has ended whatever enjoyment I was getting from it. I knew once I saw the tv commercial that it was going to be a very premium heavy event but I failed to anticipate just how much they were going to gouge their customers. I've spent 1500+ clams on characters, buildings etc. to help out only to wonder if I might finish each "district" in time for the next. Between the exorbitant amount of items needed to the completely lame petercraft and the essentially premium Vulcan Quagmire skin, this event is just unfun. And that's coming from a Star Trek fan who's seen every episode of every series and all movies. While I like some of the character actions and voice work, pretty much everything else is junk. Most of the quests dialogue feels half assed and the quest task lengths are way too long and plentiful.
Because of their tactics in this event, I'll no longer be concerned with finishing events, nor supporting them with future clam purchases. I'm even temped to just sit out the inevitable Blue Harvest event if this event is any indication of what to expect. I don't regret the money I've spent; I'll always enjoy John McClane rolling out, Jason choosing his blade, Arnie's dialogue etc. But EA set the standard for what to expect from a freemium city building game and TinyCo didn't seem to get the memo.

Unlocked Locutus last night, last 3 bags of blow dropped last night with the final one this morning. Still like 300 currency off, so will have Starfleet Lois in a few hours. I only got Locutus first since my Peterprises decided it was a good idea to drop laser pointers nearly every time. If I had 2 shots, I'd get the pointer first and then the bag. 3 shots was 2 pointers and a bag. nowhere close to any of the latest content. Quagmires skin will be basically impossible. Got the first space condom this morning, another 41 to go. The q tips are nearly done, and same with those phone things for the character, but that's about it. Right now I'm going through the endless quests that keep wanting like 24 hours to do.

I stopped playing halfway through the second week, since I was in the same boat as Carter. Then once I got through the first phase, the drop rate was horrible.

It's hard to give up considering the investment in it. I really been wanting to drop the game, but just can't. All that's gotten is being behind, and further behind. Just got Lois, now she'll have a long task list to go through including a 1 day task (likely-haven't looked at it), so she won't be able to generate items. Only have Vulcan Quagmire, who I won't get, but the chick I have a chance, just will be a long time to generate those 55 some items. That room is 10 hours to build, so I'd only get 4 a day with my trick, so that's still like 2 weeks of doing it.

They sent me a message last night that they adjusted the drop rates, which I had already noticed. I'm don't recall exactly when, but I noticed that I was finally getting a needed item every time I hit the regular Peter ship. In the message they asked me to play for a bit and then give them feedback on the drop rates. I sent the feedback a little while ago mentioning that I did notice that the drop rates are better, but that they needed to look at Quagmire's condom requirements. I bought Q because I had the clams, so I am getting the condoms. However, it's still going to be tough to get Quagmire and I told them that. First, the Peter ship usually hugs the edges of the screen giving less of it to hit and less room to do it in. Second, it moves to quick to hit twice most of the time. Third, even if I can line up my sight so that I can hit it twice if I tap quick the fire button doesn't always work. I suggested that they tweak that a bit so that we actually have a chance at hitting it twice before it regenerates.
Geesh, I haven't talked about condoms this much in one day since I had "the talk" with my kids.

Yea I got Skimpy sarong Herbert after only 18 tries, I read someone saying it took them 45 and still haven't gotten it. So 1 challenge down now I have to get a lo of condoms (no I'm not having a sex party, gigity)

Many times I have hit the larger ship 2x and it doesn't explode. WTH

It was a little tough at first, but after playing the Superhero Event on TSTO, I realized how pathetic Tinyco is. After realizing the massive amount of money I've spent on clams for stupid crap on this game vs. the limited amount of doughnuts I've bought on TSTO and their rewards, I realized I'd be better off with my money instead of Tinyco. The last two straws were missing Hot Meg by 1 item due to things not dropping, and the delay in the Star Trek event due to the *insert name for moving wigs* issue at the beginning and things not dropping once I got past that point.

The drop rates are better than they were. That's not saying a lot, but they are better. The flaw with the logic in this event is that they set high quantities for needed items with very limited ways to get them. I'm up to 13 condoms because I bought Q and have had him on his 8 hour task almost non-stop. I've also gotten better at shooting the Peter ship. This morning I was 5 hits for 5 shots, but missed on my 6th 7th ending up with 2 condoms. It's not great, but it may be do-able if I keep plugging away and keep Q on task. However, there's a problem with that plan. Q and Crusher are the only 2 characters that can clear red shirts and Crusher is still locked. Of course we need to clear red shirts to get something for Vulcan Quagmire (I think it's magazines). This means the only way to get magazines is from the room and even with 2 rooms getting them isn't guaranteed. Meanwhile back in sick bay, Crusher is still locked because we need 55 thing-a-ma-jigs which we can get from clearing Borg which isn't guaranteed or from one of the rooms which also isn't guaranteed. I was able to unlock sick bay right away, so I've been working on them since the start of this phase and still only have 23. Even using Carter's trick, it'll take me another 8 days to get them all from the rooms. Now here's where the biggest flaw in the event design becomes evident. I've reached the point in the main quest line that requires Crusher to do things. Since it's going to take more than 2 days to unlock her, I'm once again going to be behind starting the next phase. Even grinding all day isn't going to get us some of these items.
Whoever designed this event either didn't think it out all the way or they decided not to try to hide a clam grab. I'm not defending TinyCo, but I think it's more that they didn't think it through. I say this because they are somewhat responsive to complaints. I have another game I play that is structuring events like TSTO where you have to collect X number of something to get prizes. The problem is that unlike TSTO this game has daily limits on how many items you can get in a day from a given activity. They design the event so that you need to get the maximum allowed items nearly every day, but as a long time player I can't do that because some of the activities aren't available or because of game glitches. The company's response to questions/complaints is and this is a direct quote "The event is optional. You don't have to participate to enjoy the game." I wrote them back and said asked if they knew what else was optional. They won't be getting another penny from me. So while TinyCo is far from perfect, they're also far from the worst gaming company.
