You may have read a post earlier on Facebook about the views and opinions on having to have the gay pride float in their town... (if not, read it at www.familyguytips.com as I screenshot the conversation) I was wondering how you felt (if anything?)

Haven't really gave it much thought to be honest as I'm not really that bothered by it. Then my opinion is it's just a game and really it's 2014 and people have to choice to be with whoever they want no matter their sexual orientation.
* Just a quick side note... I don't think I'll need to, but be very careful about what you say as If it's seen as offensive I will remove it.

I'm married with a kid and I proudly display the float in celebration of all that the gay community have achieved over the years to becoming accepted by a disillusioned general public. I have a few gay friends who certainly never had it easy trying to integrate into a society that was pretty homophobic at the time but things are much different now. Plus it's a damn colourful decoration and should be treated as such lol

From the post by familyguytips, the issue is the requirement of the building/placing of the decoration. Not what the decoration represents. The issue the guy had, was that he was "required to build it". I don't see the issue, it's like TSTO requiring the church (which would seem to offend this guy in the comments). It's a game, and after you complete said quest, you can sell it if you don't want it. It's not like the game required you to buy 10 of them, nor requires you to keep it around.

Like what was already said...it's 2014.. the fact that it even became a subject of predicate in the first place is ridiculous. And again, the church point in TSTO, same difference. Someone always has to make an issue of anything and everything. I am not pointing any fingers to anyone in this thread. I am speaking to and about the original thread from that other forum..

I don't see the issue with it really. As others have said, it is 2014.

At least everyone on this forum is so friendly and accepting I think a reader that commented on the blog made a good point by saying - what about Herbert the obvious Paedophile? If players want to have issues about the Gay Pride Float, how come they aren't concerned and voiced their opinions about 'being required' to unlock Herbert and it not being a choice?! Family Guy is known for their controversy, that's why FOX always axes it!

No issues with me. Same as building church in TSTO as I'm agnostic. It's 2014 people get over your prejudices and hatred.

I don't have a problem with it, just trolls on the Internet wanting some attention as far as I'm concerned... Funny how no-one's kicked off about the gay character also being a requirement, in the game but the minute they release a gay pride float, there's uproar. its 2014 ffs

The issue the guy had, was that he was "required to build it". He soooo obviously has an issue with gays!!!! Imho, if his issue was that he didnt like being required to do any action, he wouldnt have lasted this long in the game and would no doubt have complained the first time he was required to build, place, buy or unlock...

Agreed, I think he has the problem with the item in general, and simply not that "it's required". Which also doesn't make sense, since he did unlock Bruce (which was required in district 2). So there is definitely something deeper.

I find it ridiculous that some one is actually making a big deal out of it. Of course it is his decision not to support the gay community, as sad as that is. But no one has asked him to go to a gay pride parade, nor have they asked him to spend any real money on it. Buying a decoration with in game cash is hardly giving support for the lifestyle. Just buy it, put it in your inventory, and move one with your life. Mine is currently sitting in my in inventory with all the other decorations I was forced to buy until I start to decorate my town and can find somewhere to put it. If anyone has found a creative way to incorporate into their town I would certainly welcome suggestions.
