So apparently TinyCo just talks out of their ass and doesn't mean a word they say. Big surprise, right? During their recent Q&A they were asked why we can't use past characters to help out during events. Their response: "Resources, mostly. Events like this involve so many moving pieces and so much new content that we have to decide where to spend resources. Adding drops to past characters involves making a lot of adjustments, removing those at the end of the event, adjusting the economy, and many other things behind the scenes. Add to that how not all players have past premium characters, and the costs of adding these back sources add up quickly." So of course now that their profits are plummeting they miraculously found a way to give past characters tasks to earn glow sticks. Paul Stanley Gene Simmons 80's Pop Star Cleveland Hayley Smith Punk Rock Chris All are 8 hours and pay the usual 3 glow sticks. Which works out to roughly 1/3 glow stick per hour per character. So there's chintzy ass TinyCo trying once again to look like they listen and respond to their customers without actually doing much. Though it's better than nothing I suppose. I noticed the token glowstick-earning tasks, too. They are really out of control. I've been laying off Pravda lately, but I can only imagine what their take will be on it. TinyCo did the same thing with a mini event about one year ago. After everybody complained relentlessly that premium characters, and 90% of other characters, for that matter, are totally useless, they added some material-earning tasks for Buzz and a couple of others. Then they went back to the same old.

I only need 2 more records to unlock DJ Herbert, I just cleared another Honey Gold Bear and got a damn coin instead of a record. I'm sure it's a Tiny scheme to try to get me to pay 70 clams for them. Good luck! Shouldn't be too hard to get him by tomorrow. I had bought Deadmau5, and, unexpectedly, he actually ended up being helpful with records. Probably in part b/c I've been ignoring his quest, which is definitely a trick. or "Tiny scheme" if you will

I'm 2 records away. I think any task that is clearing a squadder should be an always drop. Since you know, they like to have weird spawn rates.

Anyone able to start the second challenge? I see the big "start" button, but scared to push it too early. I was hoping addicts were going to post what it was, but they haven't.

Thanks for the heads up. In this case, they created more work than they needed to - in regards to Chris. Normal Chris already has an 8 hour task that generates 3. So they "added an extra resource" but it was 100% pointless. Now they have an extra one to remove. It should have been only on this particular skin then, and not normal Chris. This just shows how full of shit they are. If it were really that much more work and "resources" to code a skin to help, they wouldn't have bothered to do it to Punk Rock Chris and left it at the other four. But they were combing through all old characters and skins looking for anything music related and thought, eh what the hell. Same thing with Hayley. ONE player asks for her to have a task in this event during their Q&A so they do it. Just having Hayley being useful again is a nice touch. Had this not been posted, she'd be sitting in my inventory. Knowing that tonight the poop will hit the fan when the next character is available, and needs like 15k in glowsticks. I was debating the DJ booth, but it doesn't have a payout and taking 2k in glowsticks is quite expensive. There's 3 items from last week that I didn't buy, but they are just decorations. So they can keep it. Would rather save the tickets and guitar picks for the next phase. I had pre-bought those buildings as 1 dropped items for Herbert and the other has a good payout in glowsticks. Now I see they were required for DJ Herbert's concert, so it was a win-win there.

I'm not about to waste what little glowsticks I have on inventory filler. Love how they try to dupe unsuspecting players into using up their glow sticks on decos they might not want just to complete a quest and then come up short when the next character or main quest needs them, thereby getting a few more clam purchases they might not have otherwise. A "Tiny scheme" as it were.

Thankfully I'm 3 tickets short, so I can't buy it anyways. But you'll do the clam quest line right?

I imagine clicking "GO" starts it, like it did for the first quest. I clicked "GO" next to the first one and that's how the first challenge started (love being able to start it when I want).

The quest will pop up automatically regardless of you pressing the go button and the timer starts counting down.

But the minute it asks me to spend 1k or more glowsticks for a deco I'll leave it.

Good god. Just read about everything this week contains. Talk about overkill. 2 characters needing items + 15k glowsticks, a third that's going to take 2-3 weeks to unlock, 6 buildings @ 3k glowsticks, a new squatter that takes a minimum of 14 hours to clear for freemium players, a new type of concert that is a carbon copy of the Star Trek away missions, and a boss battle. And I probably missed some too. This is just so ridiculous and overwhelming.

Once I got Carl & DJ Herbert I thought I was in good shape but now I think I'll have to lower my expectations about what I can achieve in this event. I don't spending some cash but this could get ridiculous.
