Overall thoughts on Event

What I liked: I liked that we got Cleveland and his outfit, adventure Peter, the party camel, the mini pyramid, and a couple of the decorations that could be bought with idols. I liked the way they tried to put out new content at least once a week to keep the event interesting, although I feel it was very poorly executed.
What I didn't like: Sadly most of the event. I didn't like how much time I've put into this game to get so little reward. I'm a freemium player who might have spent clams on some items had they been offered properly. I felt like I had to play every hour or two in order to even come close to getting all the prizes. I think there was too much premium content. If I was a premium player, I'd feel like they were basically trying to rob me. Now I know that was someone purchases is their own decision. I just feel that all of the premium items should've been known from the beginning of the event, even if they couldn't actually be purchased until tiny co go to that stage of the event. I just think that people couldn't really make an informed decision about what to spend their money one. I too feel that the premium buildings released during the update should've dropped idols. After they released the stalls they put out those cool looking buildings to drop items for Cleveland. Only problem is that I almost had him unlocked already so they were pretty pointless. Had they dropped idols I would've spent clams on them. I personally think most of the prizes for this event are pretty ugly. I don't really want a giant gold butt shrine in my town. Not enough to spend clams on it anyway. And I don't think any of the prizes were great enough to justify getting one. Then I'd just have an ugly butt shrine and an ugly prize. I have had some problems with they way my mummies spawned in my town. I understand that bugs and glitches happen, but Tiny co.'s customer service was less then stellar. I waited days to get a response from them and then when I did it was less then helpful. All I wanted was a "sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you". All I got was that they fixed it and they can't tell me what the spawn rate is actually supposed to be. These sarcophagus things are just easter boxes in disguise.
What I think I'll get: right now I'm at about 41,000 idols. I think I have a chance at getting the swordsman, but to tell you the truth at this point I don't even care.
I'd give this event a 2 out of 5...sadly I'd rather to Easter all over again then deal with this nonsense.

Don't know how to start but here it goes ( pardon my english, it's not my first language)

The "event" was somewhat nice until I figured out that the only thing Tiny Co is interested is making money. Don't get me wrong I do believe in supporting the developers I always buy 600 clams a month to do this, not any more
Now I became a freemium player because of the "event", thought the were following TSTO to try to avoid becoming a company like them.

I really liked getting Cleveland and his outfit.

Disliked: their money grabbing scheme, to me it's a ripoff, ( you just lost a loyal paying customer, Tiny Co)
All the glitches, the spawn rate that took them for ever to fix, the way they are pushing you to spend literally hundreds of dollars on one single event, talk about being GREEDY.
I'm at 60,000 idols and really don't care to continue grabbing more.

I rate EA higher now than I do TinyCo which is something that never really gets said about EA! This event started of good but with each update it's just been a cash grab in my opinion, I'll reserve my judgement until the next event and see if they learn anything.

EA rates higher in my book too now. Especially after dealing with tiny co.'s customer service. EA might be slow but they're will to admit when they messed up and give you an apology and some free donuts. (I'm not looking for free clams from tiny co just an apology). Although some idols would've been nice seeing as how I missed out on some due to bugs. I'll give them until after the next event to see if they've learned from their mistakes like TSTO did with Easter. I hope they have as up until this point I was really enjoying the game.

What I liked: Cleveland and his 80's clothes.i liked the premis of the event, but...

What I disliked: I hated the execution of this event. I think it was a cash grab, pure and simple. The thinly-veiled faux Wheels 'o Chance were there every step of the way, charging an obscene number of Clams just for a chance to get currency one couldn't get any other way short of playing 20 hours per day. The premium items were gaudy and won't look right in a normal quahog. All of the Egyptian items will be in my inventory, never again to see light of day, within 12 hours following the end of this event. I don't do Facebook, so without any friends to visit, this event just plain sucked in my humble opinion.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty fed up with this game. It's rather a shame. It had such great potential, and they did a nose dive and flew it straight into the ground right after takeoff.

Cons: Egyptian items I'll never use and an event that shuns away casual players

I've only spent clams during the deal where buying the shops that drop 80s Cleveland items got you 100 extra clams which I used to get Consuela. After this event, it's definitely made me a freemium player from here on in.

Why didn't you just buy Consuela instead?  I thought the ones for normal Cleveland looked like better buildings than the ones for his costume.  I went for the deal for 4000 idols with clam purchase early on.  Allowed me to get the last character Buzz, and a large shrine.

I had 0 clams, so I would have had to spend $12 to get enough for her anyway. Instead I opted for the 600 for $20 which also allowed me to guarantee getting 80s Cleveland, Consuela, and I had some left to open some tombs...which were total busts anyway ::kicks stupid canopy tree::

I have been alternately angry, disappointed, frustrated and tired throughout this event. I grinded this entire event with hourly tasks from 8 am-12 pm. I bought til death & jake halfway through with accumulated clams and even left the game open all day for 2days while the mummies were spawning every minute ( couldn't do any more of that). 

Even with all of that I ended up with 73,000 with 5 days to go. Thank god I got lucky with the Booty box getting 19,000 more butts and allowing me to hopefully finish the event without spending clams

I can't say that it was entirely worth it but am glad it's almost over.

That's some serious dedication!  I was doing hourly for weeks, had a large shrine for the when the 4k bonus started for clam purchase, and I was at 87k this morning.  I'm nearing 90k... I really hope my next booty box drops idols, I don't think think I can finish without that.  Weekends are tricky especially for hourly play, so I will be taking a hit if I don't do that this weekend.

I agree with most of the sentiments in this thread. An event that started great, quickly became a cash grab opportunity for TinyCo and the latest twist with the jello shots poorly executed. Still waiting for buildings that supposedly will drop shots(which will most likely cost clams-- again) and there's four days left in the event. The prizes are all over the place; I did like the 25 clams prize, the pyramid, volcano, and Stewie Sphinx. The best thing about this event, however, is the addition of Cleveland and his '80s outfit that came with the '80s dance floor and St.Elmo's Clam bar free when unlocked and the Adventure Peter outfit, which are exclusive to this event. I hope TinyCo improves from this event if they want to hold on to remaining players or win back those who have been turned off, much like the Easter event in Tapped Out was a bust but the Stonecutters event was a success.

that was a good deal. But i thought that the the last "deal" was a horrible one spending 150 clams to to get 100 back I don't see how that's good

I guess I still don't get it.  The item drops either eventually come, or since you are a part of the forum you should know how to drop them automatically.  I guess that's the way I see it at least.  I won't be investing in auto drop places unless the design is really awesome.  I do like the fancy one with the water, but I already spent my clams.  With the event coming to a close, I can let it pass.  I'm just collecting characters and skins - premium buildings maybe, depending on design or need.

As a freemium player (for this event), it was good overall. The 100k objective was obtainable but it need a few effort, specifically the days where mummies spawn like crazy.
The worst part : The hard nerf on the mummies spawn just before the Jello part and his 3 clam buildings.
The good part : Cleveland and the Booty box.

Need improvement : new costumes useless for the event, too many characters useless for the event, no sand tiles.

yea I think they should of either made all the event buildings worth idols with just the shrines for clams or have the event buildings drop idols as well as the character stuff
