I'm basically freemium, but i paid around 30$ so far, mostly for characters.
I agree they have to be paid for working on the game. I buy a lot of dlc on normal game like Borderlands 2 and Sims 3.
I agree i'm new in the world of mobile games but i never see a game wanting so much money for so little. And the game still seem incomplete (useless levelling, minimal animations and interactions, half the action stuck in a few buildings, etc). The past Family Guy online game offer way more in term of gameplay, visual and exploration... And it only last a few months.

I still play because i like the Family Guy universe but i doubt the game will kept me interested. Maybe i'm asking too much for a casual game, but they ask more money than a real computer game.

As a freemium player i agree that I shouldn't necessarily get everything, I always thought that thinking was flawed in tsto complaints. But I see a few design flaws in this event that annoy me and are turning me away from game.

1) Nothing available with regular in-game currency. TSTO event usually offer a building or two or some decorations for normal currency.

2) OK, so they want to do this differently than TSTO, and decorations can be bought with moon idols. Actually a good concept, as I can pick how to spend my idols. BUT, why then make three tasks (Cleveland unlock, Cleveland skin, buy lava pool) cost idols? I lost almost 8000 of my 22000 idols to this, and cannot use them to buy event-related items. Cleveland would have been just as hard to unlock without the idol requirement

3) Wheel of doom, except not even with idols, just clams,

4) I was excited to see some sort of story line revolving around adventure peter, Cleveland, and the pyramid. Instead, Cleveland is getting disco tasks, and Peter is grinding idols as mermaid peter. Doesn't fell like much of an event.

And in general, i am really starting to wonder what the point of, eveling up all these characters is (with an excited announcement no less).

He is my event inventory as a premium player (mostly duplicates except for the stalls and small shrines)


I have 20k butts sitting there idol and a weeks worth ahead. So there appears to be a balance issue between freemium and premium players, one which may or may not have been calculated properly..

You forgot that Adventure Peter also costed idols as well.

I see the character/skin unlocks to make sure you are playing the event.  Unless you bought shrines early on (I didn't), 3000 idols was a major task itself.  I had gotten all the items before the idols, but still had to wait.  It was to make sure you were still grinding out the idols.  

I also see the Adventure Peter as a waste.  It was advertised that he would drop 2x idols, but still doesn't.  There isn't a point to really use him during the event.

Leveling the characters unlock tasks, and facespace posts.  The player level is more pointless as it's merely an achievement.

The only design put into this event is based around recouping initial investor cost. Everything else is just a ruse.

The themes of 'Kingdom of the Full Moon' with Peter and '80s Dance' with Cleveland are unrelated.

Besides completing the quest, Adventure Peter has no use in his own event.

Cleveland was designed 'as is' and so to inject him into the game during the event they stuck him in quick sand. Oh no!

The roll out of premium items for event currency and character/costume aquisition is, in my experience, a first of its kind and feels kinda rapey.

So at the end of the day I'm left with a clammy wallet and a 'what just happened to me' look on my face.

Well the spawn rate was a major bug for about 3/4 of the event.  The event was a month long, first week there were 0 spawns (per the design).  Week 2, spawn rate was minimal, but I remember it somewhat working for a short time.  Then an update released and broke the rate for at least 2 weeks for IOS.  That is where my major flag with this event is that the main mechanic was bugged for majority of it's active duration.  So now it's recouping the losses and praying that the goal is still achievable.

My biggest issue was transparency with idols required for rewards. If they wanna hide the rewards themselves fine. But I would've liked to known how many idols would ultimately be required for all rewards. Allows us to better plan and figure out how much time or clams we would need to invest. Some of us will come short or in surplus with useless butts due to this

There is not only a balance issue between freemium and premium players. There is also a balance issue with premium players who are willing to shell out a lot of cash to buy clams and premium players who cannot spend that kind of cash on a game. How much clams did you have to buy to get all this? I have bought clams, but you just need too many to get everything. I have only just earned the pyramid. So nowhere close to the other prices. I am done spending money on this game. It's not worth it.

I have 2 of each large shrines and one of each small shrine. I'll do a clam count and total inventory when I get home.

The journal entry tab is back once the throne is built.  It has the 6th entry. I won't spoil what it says but it's hilarious regarding Peter's middle name.
