Not gonna lie, it kinda stinks to have exclusive prizes in the mystery box... that costs money - a lot of money at that.
You get 600 clams for $20. Price is 120 clams = $5 for a mystery box You get 300 donuts for $20. Price of Homer buddah is 15 donuts = $1 for a mystery box
Homer Buddah has 0 exclusive prizes.

I started getting nervous when I noticed that they were marching out new premium content and offers each weekend, only a little at a time, as a ton of stuff hasn't been released yet. Then this hit and things got obnoxious really quickly. I had already spent 675 clams at the beginning to get one of each shrine--turns out the event would have been impossible without them, as they earn more idols than all of my characters combined. Then, I bought one of each stall (275 clams), though in hindsight, they are kinda boring. Later, they march out the new buildings that actually look hot, so I went for them (400 clams). In total, that's almost $50 worth of IAP for this event. I must have sucker written on my back somewhere. Now, they come out with a premium wheel that costs $5 a spin. lol thanks but no thanks. I've spent an embarrassing amount of money on TSTO over a long period of time and turned into a completionist, but I've never felt hustled. Shenanigans like these make it very easy to just say no and walk away from their premium content.

Seen pics of future event content.. They think we need more stalls. The other stuff looks good but this whole event feels like over saturation. If we are 'expected' to buy all this stuff where are we supposed to place it without storing unique buildings? I proposed this to them 5 days ago with no response to date. I've almost hit 150k butts at the half life of this event, this is where they would like everyone to be?

Not true you can get frinks lab ,squeaky voice teen ,moleman It is true, do you understand what "exclusive" means? "Exclusive" means there is a very limited way to achieve something. Frinks Lab, SVT and Moleman are ALL available for purchase individually. 150, 30, 60 donuts respectively. Tell me how much the Disco Dance Floor, DJ Booth, and others are worth in clams. Can't find them in the purchase menu? Exactly, they are exclusive to this 'mystery box'. The only item in Tapped Out that is exclusive to a mystery box is the Lemon Tree. But Tapped Out also gives a Mystery Box every 5 days, so in all, 99.9% of players will eventually get it. Tapped Out has numerous other exclusive items like the Cool Brown House, Mapple Store, etc - but they were not found in a Mystery Box or Homer Buddah. Just like you can't get PeePants Peter from these new mystery boxes.

These premium decorations and shops are getting out of hand. Considering I did drop 400 clams for the large shrine, I'm unsure if I'll even get the last prize. Assuming I don't, I will be greatly disappointed with the game. I'll stop putting in all the effort that I have for this event. I thought it was ridiculous I had to play hourly over that one weekend for PeePants, and I'll find it even more so if I played hourly for numerous days and still missed out on the final prize. That will really push me from buying another set of clams ever again.

All I bought this event with clams is a small shrine (75 clams) and a couple of party palm trees with lights (10 clams). And I just hit 50K idols today for the final prize released so far. I don't know what the target is for the last two prizes though. Hopefully I can grind them out as well.

I'm only at 43k, but I didn't get the large shrine until that premium promo for 4k in idols. I really hope it's not something outrageous like 100k in idols for the character. I think it should be like 53k and 55k. With under 2 weeks left in the event, I probably won't hit 50k for about 3-5 days or so.

Well if the response to the change in the mummy spawn rate was correct; then, the last couple things shouldn't cost that much. I can't imagine the average player has too many more idols than we have. So, if they changed the spawn rate to be more in line with the timeline for the event; then, we should be good to go for that last prize. Of course, I'm still waiting for clarification of this from them. I asked, if all else is equal meaning I keep playing the way I have been and the only variable is the spawn rate will I be able to get the last prize without spending clams? My problem with the stalls and shrines is that I can't see any way to fit them in my design after the event. I'm thinking the gold cat statue, lava tub and Peter statues are going to end up in storage because they look out of place. I'd love to be able to keep the cat statue out, but it's disproportionately large. If it were more in line with the other objects I could put it in my China town section. Think lucky cat, not #5 special cat (no substitutions). At least the buildings I can put in the business district and the camel fits nicely with them.
