Oh boy, we have Retep and Evil Stewie. More useless characters that should've been skins. And a boatload of "evil" buildings that should've been skins. Veggietown/Burgertown. Ugly People's Club/Beautiful People's Club. And on and on. Just like last year with the lighthouse/haunted lighthouse. Heaven forbid we be allowed to spookify our town without doing a complete redesign. Also there's a bunch of repurposed crap like the Retepcopter. Why put any effort into the game when you can just get people to pay for the same item twice.
Like I said before, this is just more Halloween content pushed up and repackaged to try to generate some goodwill after the debacles that were the last two major events that drew so much negative feedback before they throw the next major event up that will undoubtedly create more rancor amongst their players.

How is opening a graveyard themed District 11 repackaging content meant for Halloween? There is no graveyard in the game yet. And last years Halloween themed event was based off of the movie Ghostbusters. Another words completely different content. And how where the last 2 events debacles? I enjoyed both Star Trek & Godfather events. You say things in your posts as if your talking for the majority of people that play the game. As far as negative feed back where exactly are you getting it from? This board? That has the same 10 people posting on a daily basis. Only complaint I have is they need to add more purchasable land, not new districts but LAND, so I can use the new buildings I get instead of dumping into storage. For Pete sake if you don't like something and complain continually about it why do it?

For Pete sake if you don't like something and complain continually about it why do it? In the gaming world ghosts, devils, graveyards etc. are generally associated with Halloween. Most mobile games that have incorporated similar elements in updates usually do so in October. Halloween content tends to be pretty popular, more so than most themes. Knowing TinyCo's penchant for changing things on a whim, it's not too much of a stretch to think that them adding this spooky content at the end of July was not planned so much as it's a response to the overwhelming criticism they have received of late. I'm glad you are enjoying the game. Truly. The majority of players don't seem to share your enthusiasm though. Ignoring Facebook (since company pages seem to exist mainly for trash talk from ignorant people and trolls) there are two blogs that are devoted to this game, familyguytips and familyguyaddicts whose posts during the last two events are riddled with complaints from players, frustrated with the direction this game has taken. I won't take the time to link them but you can Google them if you like. As for why I still post about this game, it's because I still enjoy parts of it. Until this year I was enjoying the game and was fairly optimistic about its future. I have invested hundreds of dollars and hours into this game and I'm not quite ready to give it up. I started playing day one and up through New Years the game seemed to be generally improving. Going from Kingdom of the Full Moon and Comic Con to Ghostbusters, American Dad and Christmas events I was pretty happy with the game and their events and my earlier posts reflect that. Then came the new year and everything changed. First came the premium pricing for skins (250 clams for Steroid Stewie & 200 for New Years Brian if memory serves). Skins up til that point were always obtained through item drops. That was a minor annoyance but was indicative of what was to come. The Star Trek event was what really soured me on the game. Previous events were able to be completed even by freemium players. As long as you put in the time you were able to finish the main storyline and obtain ALL free characters. Not so with Star Trek. All players even premium ones struggled to finish the event due to infrequent drops and massive amounts required. And the quests, dear god, the quests. It was the first time I truly felt that they were quantity>quality there were so many of them. Plus it was the first time they extended an event only for us to find out they had a full weeks worth of more content lined up which indicates they had this planned from the beginning. It just added insult to injury. Then the Fatfather event managed to disappoint further. They introduced leaderboards with which you can buy your way to the top. And once again made it near impossible to complete the main storyline and obtain all "free" characters with enough time invested. Not to mention only being able to get one prize at the end. What if I had wanted the horse head on bed to decorate the godfather mansion with? Tough luck until the inevitable premium mystery box later on. Those are just the bullet points however. I could go into so much more detail over the myriad of more minor issues plaguing this game. But that's for another post.

I got distracted by reading the posts I forgot about my post. I got all the evil event stuff- the clam items, just going to collect the last few items for evil coins. Man I got both of them before I got the last helmet I need.

How is opening a graveyard themed District 11 repackaging content meant for Halloween? There is no graveyard in the game yet. And last years Halloween themed event was based off of the movie Ghostbusters. Another words completely different content. I just remembered, there were portals and ghosts to resurrect last Halloween as well (Diane Simmons, Francis Griffin, Mr. Weed). The mechanics are a bit different this time but the content is quite similar just minus the Ghostbusters this time.

The portals had nothing to do with resurrection, and you just repaired the gave to get the characters then collect items needed. If you want to call this the same as that then this whole game is re-skined halloween. It takes time to make this stuff and they have to plan this out months in advance to drop in the time they wanted (with app stores approvals to be considered). Now what I want to know is why they have 5 characters sitting around doing nothing but teasing us, what's the planned content to be dropped? It wasn't D9-11 so what are they not doing, maybe they scraped it or are reworking to make it better??

Mr weed I think was craft able like Captain Kirk. But you couldn't start both of them, just like the portal. One had to upgrade the nightmare portal to unlock that weeks content. So while the portal wasn't direct resurrection, both the Halloween event and this district still share the portal theme - which I think is what Elmo was pointing at. This game is constantly recycling its themes and mechanics. We've had boss battles since the Kingdom of the Full Moon, since Comic Con, there's been launching of bombs/missiles at targets ( surpringly no such element in the mobster event), most events have had a weekly challenge, and every event after Halloween has had crafted prizes (I consider the crEation of mobsters to be the craftable part). This game is nearly always recycled/reskinned events, with little to no new types of gameplay. The mobsters event was the first one not to have tappable NPCs, and there has always been nontappable NPCs that required a task/fireman clone to dispose of it.

In terms of progress, unlocked both evil Stewie and Retep. Still need 5 anti coins to progress the story.

And once again made it near impossible to complete the main storyline and obtain all "free" characters with enough time invested. Not to mention only being able to get one prize at the end. I bolded some statements that I'm 100% behind. In terms of Star Trek, I'd like to add there even was the massive glitches with the game that also hindered the event. I couldn't even board the Enterprise since those "Tribbles" thing stopped spawning in Quahog (and were spawning on the ship). I was dead in the water as I had Riker just needing those stupid crystals, but none were to be had. This caused me to be way behind each week. I wasn't the only one affected by this either - seemed to be quite common feedback to Tinyco. While I didn't have this issue, I know people were locked out with frequent crashes during the Mobster event. Many site this with the massive amount of content within the towns. Meaning all those buildings/decorations/characters that the game has, is preventing players from logging in. You can see from the premium offerings that this game has become more and more dependent on the pay-to-play model. As Elmo stated, last year's events were manageable being 100% freemium (I still disagree with the Kingdom of the Full Moon - had to exploit the King Butt glitch to have unlocked him freemium). But the others were definitely doable. We now have 3 versions of Stewie - and being arguably the best character on the show has like 10% involvement in character unlocks or used during events. Even having the premium content doesn't even go forward either. So if you purchase the Devil now, once Thursday passes he won't be used ever again (highly likely).

I completely forgot about all the bugs and glitches during the last two events that made the game unplayable. I was fortunate enough to get through the events without any game breaking bugs. Funny how Tapped Out can provide 4-5 times the land and something like 6K items placed and still be stable. Could it be that TinyCo has decided to invest its $$ in other companies IP's and celebrities likeness and voices rather than upgrading their servers to handle the game? Like you (and I think most everybody) I had to utilize the King Butt glitch to finish the Kingdom of the Full Moon also, but gave them a pass since it seemed that with Comic Con they were learning and correcting their mistakes.

You're right they do have content ready months in advance and my theory could be completely wrong but having ghosts and graveyards in the middle of summer seems odd. I'm sure that they are working on Christmas content as we speak and could change their minds this far in advance and repackage part of it as a district if they wanted to. If we had a district filled with candy canes, reindeer and snowmen drop in October I would be equally suspicious of their motives. Taken by themselves it could have nothing to do with Christmas but they are often associated with it. And Carter explained my point about the similarities in content much better than I did.

Where as society dictates 10/31 as "spooky time", it actually has nothing to to with "spooky time". (As seen on all "Haunted reality" shows 365 day a year) But really as seen on the History channel it started when kids would prank people/person they didn't like. Then 1 old lady who got fed up with fixing and cleaning up after them started the first "trick or treat" by giving a treat in hopes that the tricks would stop. Later trick-or-treating was put on the 31st, I don't remember why maybe the relationship with the dead or other stuff like stuff like that. Then it gets commercial after that and "spooky time" costumes round the day oh yea parties!!! If it wasn't a district I'd agree that it seems kinda odd too. As a TSTO player I associate those times as event types, but if FG put out D12 next week and it was all Christmas themed it would not bother me. Now if I had to squish or do battles I'd call shananagins.
