Part 3 is live. Seamus I free but difficult to get, and you can buy up to 3 emergency vehicles.

Could they be learning that they don't have to make it exceedingly difficult to get characters and skins to get people to spend clams? That there is a rather large number of people who will spend money (for some, lots of money) simply because they enjoy the game? That turning the screw constantly on your players turns away more people than convinces them to spend? I can only hope.

With Memorial Day weekend coming up, TinyCo most likely, to their credit, wanted to give players a break from grinding for stuff and enjoy the weekend. I know I will. Although, I still want some of the prizes in the mystery box-- although not as important as Seamus' skin.

Yeah he was easier than I thought it would be, now I'm so torn between spending 210 clams for Brian, and getting 25 clams for a complete set.

Better decide soon if you want to take advantage of Brian's 12-hour task that drops chief fire hats if you want to open more mystery boxes. Just got Seamus' skin tonight as well.

On no my towns been on fire for so long that the ground is becoming unstable and I'm fearful of a cave in. No Brian get away from there you don't have your firefighter skin, the ground is collapsing. Wait I can help -210 clams and 10 minutes later, here Brian I caved in and bought you this now get us out of here. Oh look I got +25 clams for helping Brian wow that's what helping out it worth!?

In the grand scheme of things, 185 clams for a Brian skin is a drop in a bucket-- or that's how we rationalize it anyway. Much cheaper than the darn whale in Tapped Out. Plus, you got yourself a Dalmatian-- with no poop to pick up in real life.

Not quite a whale, but if you want a more accurate comparison - I think Frink's skin was 12 donuts (Stonecutters): 300 donuts = $20 = 600 clams: 12 donuts = 24 clams. 210 clams = 105 donuts. If a skin in TSTO is 120 donuts (or hell even a character), you are also getting a building/decoration at that price. In addition to the provided bonus item, the skin pays double xp and $$ for the player while in use (I know Frink already pays 2x without the skin, but all premium skins pay 2x). Then this building offers an income and/or provides a bonus %. So your money really does go farther in TSTO when you buy premiums.

Sideshow Bob's skin is 100 donuts which is comparable to Fire Dog Brian skin for 185 clams (with the bonus 25 clams).

How about Kamp Bart? 200 donuts (but get a building). Those are more applicable since the original character was not premium. Limited time? Witch Marge (90 + cauldron). What I'm getting at is the majority of skins come with something. In addition, that something (along with the premium skin) also offer some type of bonus to that purchase. Sideshow Bob is a limited time character and his skin is also limited time - which is closer in comparison to Loctus / Picard. While Picard wasn't premium, he was certainly incredibly difficult to get for most fremium players.

We can go back and forth but ultimately nobody's forcing anybody to buy clams on this game or donuts in Tapped Out. We don't have to have everything in the game; much like I passed on the premium mystery box to win Consuela's Borg skin nor did I buy the whale in Tapped Out.

I really dislike that statement "nobody's forcing you to buy..." That is irrelevant. Of course you're not forced to spend money. The only thing that matters is if you're satisfied with your purchases. Carter's argument is that Tapped Out offers more for your money because a premium skin often comes with a building, a percentage increase in income and xp earned and help with event currency in most every future event whereas with Family Guy you only get the skin that helps with the current event and that's it.
