Not superior in any way. It's all about choice. The thing is, it's not like your forced to buy those mystery boxes for clams... I have no way of knowing that these items were going to become available in the best of 2014 collection, in fact, i was told by TinyCo that the Clamterprise would never return. It's choice. And i'm not afraid to say that i refuse to buy mystery boxes for this very reason. If an item returns, it returns, if an item never turns up again, it never turns up again. That is sods law. If they choose to make Tearjerker Island free, then so be it, it's TinyCo's choice to do so. I won't lose any sleep over it, i won't gripe about it, I bought it purely because it was one of my favourite American Dad episodes. Just like it doesn't bother me that because i won and bought every premium character in an event since ComicCon, and now some of them have a slight discount on them, doesn't bother me, in fact, i hope people take the chance to actually get these things. My major gripe, is the fact that those who DO buy the premium stuff get butt fu... ummm,  left with a useless premium character that does nothing afterwards (although TinyCo are now trying to add more item earning tasks for them these days, but nowhere near enough). while this may be seen as unfair to newer players, long time players who have bought the premium characters don't really get the bang for their buck. As for showing compassion, i've always been very supportive of freemium players being as we all came from that ocean at one time, but lets be honest, the abuse some premium players get elsewhere because they choose to make their gameplay more entertaining, well, i'm starting to run out of compassion and actually start looking from my own point of view now, i'm premium, i expect premium characters and buildings to do more, and i will keep asking TinyCo about this and hopefully one day they will actually start doing it. I did not intend to turn this into an aggressive but defensive post, but you left me with no choice to do so. Sorry, I respect all opinions but I also have the need to be honest about how i feel about gameplay, i hate being backed into corners because it means i have to come out fighting to make my points and/or feelings felt.

So if you bought $20-$50 item which you wanted, then find out 6 months later that the store is just giving them away to anyone that walks in the door, you wouldn't be unhappy about it? You wouldn't try to get your money back and/or be mad that they are now free? I understand purchase regret happens and people are entitled to be unhappy/happy with their purchases regardless. But as a supporter it just upsets me and is turning me away from spending additional cash on the game. Why buy the boxes or premium buildings if they will be available for free next year?

I'm feeling happy I didn't buy Steroid Stewie or NYE Brian, as they will likely be around next year for 125 clams (which is better than their 150-200 price tag).

I don't have a problem with discounts / price drops. Those happen all of the time. By a video game console, phone, etc and within a year the price drops. Happens all the time.

Yay! Got King Butt!

That was easier than the event... As I didn't know any of the hacks until it was too late, I missed him by only a few butts. Got him now though!

I guess I have everything else... Haven't seen a single mystery box.

I got King Butt on Saturday. Just need 2 machetes for Mr. Weed, I hope both Meg and Seamus drop them when I go on in the morning before school.

After complaining to TinyCo about the premium mystery box items returning for in-game cash they credited my account 200 clams. Nothing compared to what I spent but at least it was something. I looked up what those mystery boxes cost and I had forgotten they were 75 & 180 clams! God I can't imagine spending that much on one now. I calculated that it would've cost a minimum of 870 clams to get those items if you landed on each one the first time. From now on I'll be a lot less likely to spring for a mystery box knowing the items will likely be back at some point for cash or clams. Same goes for anything limited time.
