I hope you guys are able to get another encore in before today's content drops. The new musician is supposed to be Rick Astley. I'm only going to be able to do one.
So I was pretty surprised at how this event started. I expected the worst but I got Rockstar Peter in a day, Avril in 2, and Makeover Meg in 4. Not a bad start, all completely doable; it kind of reminds me of last years events, if only there were characters I wanted but hey, it's a step in the right direction right?
Then I read TinyCo's Q & A they did yesterday. Here's a sample (the questions I paraphrased, the answers areTinyCo's response word for word):
Q: why can't we use past characters for event currency
A: Resources, mostly. Events like this involve so many moving pieces and so much new content that we have to decide where to spend resources. Adding drops to past characters involves making a lot of adjustments, removing those at the end of the event, adjusting the economy, and many other things behind the scenes. Add to that how not all players have past premium characters, and the costs of adding these back sources add up quickly.
We like doing this! And we hear that it’s something our longtime players want. We’re looking into the best way to involve older characters. For now, though, the top priorities are characters specific to an event, and characters that much of the playerbase has.
On that latter note: this is a big reason why you see the same characters involved in quest lines often, such as Bonnie and Peter. If a quest is necessary to advance in the game, we want at least one character in that quest to be someone most players unlock.
I’m not on the design team, so I can’t speak to Haley specifically :)but broadly, we’ve released a ton of characters in the past year, so there will always be a few that would have been great flavor fits that didn’t make the cut. I can talk to the team about whether they have plans for her, though!
Q: will unlocking characters/skins get harder as the event continues
A: Yes, some quests and characters will get harder as the weeks go on. Not all of them, though.
Q: Notice of timed things before they start
A: We’re trying to get better about this. But oh man, SO MUCH happens during development that announcing a specific release date carries a big risk. We have to strike the balance of getting people hyped while still meeting deadlines.
We’re looking into a “Cancel Tasks” button as a way to help with this.
Q: more land
A: Right now we’re sticking with adding space during District releases. We don’t plan on releasing new space during PeterPalooza.
It doesn't exactly fill me with hope for the rest of this event or life of the game.

But the third point is really what doesn't make the slightest sense. So they understand that Bonnie and Peter are needed frequently. BUT they STILL use them for district 11 drops. This completely counteracts the point! WHY use Peter for a 12 hour task drop on the latest 3 characters to D11. This doesn't make sense. They did fine for D10 and D9 I think. But using "common core" characters for drops for items in a district, makes no logical sense as they are needed for the 1000s of events we go through.

Snoop now available for 260 clams. A lot of clams for a character that will be useless once the event is over. Pass. And besides what does he help with? A Brian costume?

Here's a heads up from the help info.
You will need to complete PeterPalooza Pt. 7 before you can start on week 2 if PeterPalooza.
The Event Staff Tent is located to the right of the stage. You can hire Event Staff here to keep PeterPalooza safe! Each type of Event Staff has a different purpose.
Tap on the Event Staff Tent to manage your Event Staff. Here you can see how many Event Staff members you can have at any given time (“Capacity”), the types of Event Staff you can hire, and the queue of Event Staff members waiting to be hired.
Members of the Event Staff are single-use and will disappear after being used. (Just like the goons in the mob event.)
You can hire Beekeepers at the Event Staff Tent at 1 Honey each. You can receive Honey from Avril, Bruce, Mort, Brian, Dr. Hartman, and the Beehive Tree. It will take 45 minutes to train each Beekeeper.
Use Beekeepers to clear Swarms of Bees!
To unlock Joe Lion, you must collect the following materials:
180 Glowsticks
40 Guitar Picks (always) from concerts, Toad Users, Swarms of Bees, and Kwik Pick Kiosk
12 Smelly Rastacaps (common) from Joe, Chris, Bonnie, and Herbert
4 Patchouli Oil (extra rare) from Bonnie, Quagmire, and Jerome
Joe Lion is available until Thursday, September 17 at 3 PM, PDT. If he is not completely unlocked, he will disappear from the game at that time. If he is unlocked before the event ends, you will be able to continue his quests after the event has ended.
Rapper Brian is available at the Festival Merch Crafter. To unlock him, you must collect the following materials:
700 Glowsticks
70 Guitar Picks (always) from concerts, Kwik Pik Kiosk, Swarms of Bees, and Toad Users
7 Concert Tickets (common) from clearing Greased-up Deaf Guy
6 Hacky Sacks (rare) from Snoop Dogg and clearing Swarms of Bees
Rapper Brian is available for seven days, from the first time you open the Kiosk and see his outfit. If he is not completely unlocked, he will disappear from the game at that time. If he is unlocked before the event ends, you will be able to continue his quests after the event has ended.

Don't finish part 7 if your trying to do an encore it will reset with Joe and you won't earn picks that way. I was almost ready to do an encore and now I have to wait 5 hrs to build then earn honey.

So even though I already have all the hacky sacks, I'm still earning them. I really need the guitar picks, and not extra of an item I have no use for. I still need 2 more things of oil for Joe, and I need like 3-4 tickets for Brian's costume. I still need guitar picks - I did buy 2 of the items for Joe's concert. But I almost have enough for his costume again.

I got Joe and did a concert and earned all the picks back I spent on Joe and only need 1 ticket to get Brian. If I have to wait to do an encore it will be awhile, because I haven't had GUDG after the initial quest to catch him.
i should complain more often as soon as I went back in I saw him running around. So now I got Brian. I wonder who we buy this time?

TIP: If you drag Rockstar Peter or Avril (probably Joe Lion too) to the main stage you can start a secret show. It runs for 24 hours. I put Avril on it as I have her quests done and have enough honey atm. Not sure what the payout is but probably glowsticks, picks and tickets. You will have to tap a lot as you will have many fans spawning all day long. You'll earn 8-10 glowsticks per batch of fans.

I'll give this a shot when Avril is free (and still needing to unlock Joe) Edit: sweet beans. Kinda stinks she's up there for 24 hours though. I already got all 100 stars after the first 2 spawns - and they keep coming. Infinite money/rings until it's cleared. Oh well, I'll get a bunch of guitar picks and tickets maybe? I tried it since they screwed me out of my encore concert. I had all the tasks done and waiting on Avril to be free, but then they launched this weeks content (I thought we get 7 days before they add more?). So I used this now without having Joe unlocked. I'll need the picks for Brian, since I might lose if Joe is taking forever. Only need like 3-4 tickets (GUDG has appeared at least 3 times so far). Once immediately after he unlocked, and one other time yesterday, and once so far today.

since next to Avril there is only 3 chair at least one of the upcoming Musicians is gonna be Premium well until Tinyco adds last minute characters like they normally do during the events. My guess is it will either be Weird Al or Alice Cooper that's premium

also it seems that Greased up Deaf Guy will be just like Roger was with being a squatter during the event until the last week
