As my topic says, I'm really new to the game. I only just started playing the game less than a month ago. I live in a nursing home and someone was nice enough to gift me with a tablet so I had something to occupy my time. I love playing the game. I was unable to finish the Mobster quest because of coming into the game so late. When this new one started I was happy because I could start fresh from the beginning. My problem is that one quest requires Consuela to clean the town. However that requires 300 clams. I only have 40. There is no way I'm going to be able to finish the one that needs that. I live on a $40 silent a month so I cannot afford to pay for items to play a game. I think I'm afraid I might have to quit the game altogether which I really don't want to do. Can people be honest and tell me if I should give up and uninstall? And BTW, the cookie trucks are still around. How do you hire the goons to get rid of them? (Remember I didn't finish the Mobster quest. I apologize for the long post. Thank you.

Wow you don't look 52! Not by a long way!
Lots of people play Freemium but yes you won't be able to complete everything. Just enjoy what you can complete. That's what I'm focusing on now, having splurged on Clams for the Mob event I'm not doing that again.

As a day one player my advice to you play freemium, don't spend money nothing is worth it. The game has gone from Family Guy Quest For Stuff to Quest to Cram as Many Money Making Events as Possible with the Family Guy Cast. Play this game for free, the fun has left the building. I recommend playing The Simpsons Tapped Out, it's much more enjoyable and there's land to place everything- there's a lot of premium content and all the previous free stuff gets rerelease as premium, but there's a lot more content (free) and land and fun there. Get what you can from this game but don't be fooled into having to spend more money to play, just get what you get and you'll be happier you didn't spend money. Just read old event post and you'll get an idea about the crap Tinyco has pulled. Lots of content (mostly crap) and no land to put it on.

BTW this is the Magic Mike event and you have to buy him, that doesn't happen in TSTO events.

(Remember I didn't finish the Mobster quest. I apologize for the long post. Thank you. I would give up and uninstall. There is no way for a player to finish events without devoting their life and bank account to the game. Honestly you would have to be able to log into the game every 2 hours 7-8 times a day, and spend roughly $100 per event to complete them. Smaller events like this Magic Mike one last about a week and can occasionally be completed without clams but you still need to spend every waking hour attending to the game to complete. TinyCo also has multiple bugs running throughout the game always. The cookie trucks are just the latest bug for some players. There is rarely a day that goes by that the game doesn't have one bug or another. Often times game breaking. That's no exaggeration. You can message them in game and they might get back to you. It's about 50/50 you'll get a response. Like aaronrtd said, if you would be interested in a similar game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out is much kinder to freemium players. Their events are doable without spending a ridiculous amount of time and money to complete. P. S. If you like Futurama they're making a game that presumably will be similar in style to this game and Tapped Out. It should be coming sometime next year. toucharcade.com/2015/07/08/futurama-mobile-game-sdcc/www.playfuturama.com

If you can accept the fact you won't get every skin, free character, etc - then it can still be a fun time waster. Us on the forums are mostly premium players (or former premium players), so it's easier for us to complete these events. But as he said if you don't want to be pushed into purchasing everything, wish to complete every event, and not have to play every 2 hours for 16 waking hours - then this game likely isn't for you. If you are okay with their nudging and can ignore it, don't care if you complete every event, and play at your own time - then this game can be a good time waster. It depends on your mentality and what you expect out of the game and your attitude towards progression.

I used to be premium, but now I realized how much money I would have to spend to complete everything and it's just not worth it. Now I'm playing as a freemium player who is enjoying the game (despite the Magic Mike event) getting whatever I can with the time I have.

Like you I'm enjoy playing the game when I can and getting what I can. I'm bummed about not being able to get things because of not having enough clams but I'm having fun anyway. Thank you for your input.

I think I'll keep playing because I do like playing.
