I put this together in case it's helpful to anyone (and also b/c I keep having to look for this info across a few different blog posts). - Have Bathrobe Quagmire Watch Netchix (20h) AND Have Bruce Go Kitten Pickin' (20h)
- Need 9 Showgirls
- Bonus Raid #3: rewards 1x Multiplier, 140 Fedoras per FGA

Mopurglar I came across your post on the FGA blog urging them to affect some change within TinyCo; to become not just a TinyCo cheerleader but an advocate for the players, the underdogs as well. As usual you were polite, articulate and concise. Their response was, I guess, to be expected but still offensive. In her reply she managed to commiserate with you on the state of the game immediately followed by a complete dismissal of your concerns/suggestions. Business as usual I guess. Btw thank you for this condensed list of walkthroughs. It helps tremendously. It's so easy to follow this summary without all those unnecessary graphics. So stupid that they use the cookie icon every time there's a reward or cost involving them; I get that something needs or uses cookies, I don't need a useless icon taking up space five time in a line with space that could be put to better use! I wish either FGA or familyguytips would do something similar. Their way is so disjointed and clumsy forcing you to have ten different windows open to follow everything.

I actually think she is pretty reasonable. She basically boycotted the Star Trek event and let the other one do all the posting. The comment was mostly for them to read and think about more than anything. I will probably post a reply the next time I think Bunny is moderating, then run for cover. I def appreciate what they do and interacted with them when they wrote about my town more than a year ago on TSTOaddicts. I just think that their FG blog--while invaluable--has started losing touch with reality since the Star Trek event.

The general game discussion board was getting mighty crowded. I'm sure all five people left who still visit this forum appreciates having everything in its proper place.

Moved back to GD per user request. Per the improvements thread - threads created should stay where they are until userbase has expanded enough to warrant them moved. I realize this "should" be contained in the walkthrough section of the site - but seeing as the current userbase mostly posts in GD - this should stay here. When the event is closed, it can be pushed back to Walkthroughs - but in terms of actual discussion, it should remain in GD.

Here is the permalink in case the formatting doesn't come out right: familyguyaddicts.com/2015/06/19/quahog-mob-walkthroughs-week-3/comment-page-1/#comment-166464I picked up ground on the leaderboard when they released the new decos a few days ago. I was buying one of each and then noticed that one of them paid out a ton of mob rep, so I spent several thousand cookies on it before I had to run to work. When I got home, they had fixed it already. All of the decos still pay out mob rep at a ratio of 0.2 rep per cookie--I think this is TinyCo's mechanism to allow people to buy their way to the top. Presumably most folks who sprung for cookie machines will have cookies left over at the end of the event. Mopurglar | June 20, 2015 at 4:32 am | Reply
Alissa and Bunny – I’m posting this because I know you’re receptive to feedback. What do YOU think? ;)
This game has had serious problems since the Star Trek event and has basically devolved into a weekly extortion exercise–I think 80% of players would agree. It’s a very different game than it was one year ago.
What’s more, TinyCo is well aware of what they’re doing, and about the only thing that might make them change their tune would be a flurry of 1-star reviews and being held accountable in a public kind of a forum. They’ve become so brazen with their con tactics that they actually “extend” an event, then say, “oh yeah, btw, we happened to have another week of characters and quests lying around, so here you go! Aren’t we great?”
I appreciate all of the incredible work you guys do in maintaining this awesome blog that I check ~10 times a day. I hope it keeps growing and you attract as huge of a readership as I know you are capable of attracting.
My only recommendation is that you pause and ask yourselves how you think anyone who plays this game would react when they read your posts since the Star Trek event–specifically, what’s mentioned in the posts and what’s not–as well as your responses to reader comments.
There is an artful way to make both of your bosses happy, so to speak, without turning one away. You two are super smart and talented–I know you can figure this out.
P.S. Alissa – happy birthday! and congrats on the upcoming little one!

Believe me my feelings about this event since Star Trek haven’t been great (and have been vocalized many many MANY times over to TinyCo). I think frustrations about the game in general are growing and believe me it spreads to us too. (especially since we put our own money into the game to run the events. Just in my game alone I’m over $400 since the event started & we’re only on week 3) Honestly I think tensions for everyone are just high lately…which just doesn’t seem fair since it’s supposed to be a game. A game that’s supposed to be fun. I have my thoughts about what TinyCo’s doing..and they’re not that far off from yours, but go a bit further. We love our readers (on both sites) but I honestly can tell the fun has been sucked outta the game to just about everyone. It wasn’t even this bad at Easter on TSTO…and that event was AWFUL. I do try to interject more of the same frustrations into my posts but at the same time we’re just reporting what’s going on in the game on a lot of these posts, without our opinions. So it’s a balancing act…but I think (on both sites) at times it’s just more important to say what’s going on than why we think it’s going on..if that makes sense. Thank you for the feedback, we do ALWAYS appreciate it! We love our readers and are always all for ways to make this site (and TSTO) better from you guys. Thank you for the birthday wishes and congrats! And if this sounds a little scattered I blame it on the pregnancy brain lol

Out of curiosity, do you ever see yourself saying “I’m done playing this”? What do you think would be the tipping point… the thing that finally pushes you away (or would your interest just eventually fade away naturally)? It occurred to me that you and Bunny are just enthusiastic players yourselves, and there’s nothing forcing you to play. While the premium experience likely doesn’t have the same frustrations, are you still enjoying the game like you used to? I guess I’m doing some ‘soul searching’ and working through my own addiction to this, and you two always seem to have a good perspective.

There are a LOT of aspects I do still enjoy in it myself. It is more the execution of how they play out that gets difficult at times. Like me and Alissa keep saying… “If only WE made a game… we would do this, this, and this.” Lol.
Honestly, we play to not just enjoy it but to help others. If we can lay out the mechanics of the game, we know that may help a LOT of people to know what is coming and what to focus on.
I also see it like this the game, just like life, will have its ups and downs. I have played many games and they all did the same for me… lots of cool stuff, then stuff I would have been more happy to do without. Things I wished never happened/ We see frustrations on another level… What it takes to go through EVERY SINGLE ITEM of the game. It can take a lot. Where as a casual player, you could just skip over it.
I still have hopes this will turn around and get back on a better track. Due to my background, I also look at things from both a Player and a Business perspective. (I have owned some in the past and still own my own businesses, so I know what it takes just to break even many times.) So I have knowledge things HAVE to be put into play just to allow the game to survive and continue on for both the Company and its Players. But that also won’t stop me from voicing my thoughts, opinions, concerns, and constant suggestions to make the game better in my mind for everyone all around. In the end, I am a Player first. Always will be. The gamer girl in me is strong. Lol. ;)

Alissa, thank you so much for your honest comments. I know you guys try to be the voice of reason amongst the detractors, but I appreciate that you guys are feeling the same frustration. Helps us all feel a bit better than even all-stars like you and Bunny are feeling put-upon by the last few events.
Personally, I feel that this event has been the first that TinyCo has created with a true dichotomy in mind. In previous events, it was possible for freemium players (with determination and your helping hands!) to fully complete every objective and earn every reward.
This event feels completely different, and not just because of the transparency of the leaderboard. It seems that TinyCo wants this event to be a little different for everyone. It is clearly impossible to earn Promoter Cleveland, Gangster Tricia, Don Corleone AND Mob Boss Consuela as a freemium (or even semi-premium) player. Aside from the Tuba Travesty (I eventually gave up and purchased the last ten tubas just to progress the story), there just isn’t enough time or resources (i.e. goons) to complete EVERY objective.
Instead, I recommend (for everyone’s peace of mind) to just focus on a couple things. Really want Promoter Cleveland? Go for it. Hope to get Gangster Tricia? Start saving cookies. But don’t expect that you are going to get everything, because I don’t think that TinyCo planned this event that way. Pick a few objectives and focus on those and just let the rest go. In the end, it’s a game; and it is NOT worth the consternation we’ve all felt the last few weeks.
Thanks again for your honest response ~ and keep up the excellent work; we all appreciate it!

We really try to keep a more positive spirit here. There is just so much negativity… it breeds if you let it. It will quickly overtake a place too. (Just look at their Facebook Page). We don’t want our site to turn into that.
We want to focus on the help. We always want to help. But there is so much we can do as we are not them. That doesn’t stop us from still communicating MANY times daily behind the scenes all our thoughts and concerns. So we focus on the game mechanics… things we know can immediately help Players at least know what is coming and what each item offers while we work in the background on other concerns.
It is hard when you have such high hopes and are disappointed. But as Alissa said, our thoughts… focus… concerns… always have been and always will be US… the Players. So we will keep fighting that fight until we have no more fight left in us. :)
I still have hopes it will turn around, more so as I have seen other games do it. I have seen them do it in the past. For now… Only time will tell. ;)

Thanks for that! I see the advertisement to buy that plane thing and got "tons" of Mob Rep. I'm very conflicted, I want the rob rep, but I also like stock piling the cookies for the next phase. I actually will complete the challenge. So I will get tons of mob rep back. I was lucky I had a bunch of the showgirls ready the challenge launched. It seems pretty tight, although not quite as tight as the first challenge. Cleveland Junior is wrapping up his task and I have 2 more couriers to take down with 1 being done shortly. I need a few more high heels, but those should be ready in about 2-3 hours giving me plenty of time to wrap up. The downside is that I will then need like 13 showgirls to wrap up star number 3 (already on the task for 7 needed) and still need them to take out couriers for more items.
