Got 9 a few minutes ago and only thought there were about 6 there, a few were hiding behind buildings I'm guessing.

Just hit 300-- and the Tri-Cycle! The blue nerds drop bombs regularly; no need to buy them with clams.  |

Expanding on the tap to stop method, I built a wall of buildings up the center on my town. From the water to about 3/4 of the way to comicon. I sit and wait at the corner of the wall. As the minions hit the wall they mostly turn at the same line and walk right into my trap. I think they can walk between buildings, but usually just change directions when they hit a building. This method encourages them to pass a very small area where I can tap and accumulate them. Just got 9 on my first try with the method.
