I've spent almost $500 dollars last month and half of that was for the Easter event

'Test Your Strength' decoration is now freemium. It costs 1000 coins instead of 25 clams.

I am being dragged to the realization that these events can not be completed anymore without spending money. Which I am not happy with. But once that is accepted, these events can be enjoyed for what you do get. (some clown fun, a couple decorations, and 10 clams)
Topic #2:
Will Hobo Clown Peter be of any meaningful value? Peter already has plenty of outfits and is central to most storylines. I can see this outfit being stuck in the closet.

That's good although it'd be better if it gave pies or horns or one of those items were freemium It's a fair move by TinyCo, but I agree on the fact that they should have made the other items freemium as well, not only because it's very hard to get the clown costume without spending clams, but also because these freemium event items are sort of out of place in my town without the premium ones. You can't really make a circus area with just fences and the 'test your strength'.

Yea like the cotton candy machine I've already decided I wasn't buying premium decor, so it kind of stinks I may miss out on the costume. At least tapped out is typically more free decorations with fewer premiums. The premiums are also significantly cheaper too.

The premiums might be cheaper in tapped out... but the cost of donuts certainly isn't! In Family guy I get 600 clams for £11 and in The Simpsons i get 300 donuts for £13 so they both have there pros and cons.

I believe that the most expensive thing in Tapped Out is the Whale (300 donut = $20 / 13 pounds), but in Quest for Stuff, there's a statue that's 1000 clams, basically $40 or 22 pounds. The Whale at least increases cash earned on jobs and rents, while the statue.. has an animation (as does the whale). Outside of Easter, all events could be completed without donuts. Certainly could use donuts to speed up the process with generators, buying the prizes directly, etc. Now we are basically required to buy the generators. I'm going to try my best to acquire the costume, but there's a decent chance I might miss it. It won't bother me, that's not really an iconic costume - but I would like to get it without having to buy the generators - as I could easily complete Halloween 2013 without generators.

I could be wrong about this but the Whale is in fact the most expensive decoration in Tapped Out, but I don't think it's the most expensive premium item in the game as I'm sure there was something I've payed more than 300 donuts for before. Also I think we can all agree that Golden Peter Statue is seriously over priced in the game, but other than that the pricing is pretty good. In my experience the generators really don't help at all you'd be best buying the mixture of eggs for 100 donuts if you have them spare. The Easter event had such promise as it had been something people had want for a bit... but well EA been EA found a way to annoy everyone with it!

The Easter event had such promise as it had been something people had want for a bit... but well EA been EA found a way to annoy everyone with it! I will say all 4 premium characters are priced extremely well. The decorations in FG are pitiful. There's that Criptron thing that's 750 clams (not much better than the Peter Statue), and several Peter-faced vehicles all at least 100 clams each or more. The stuff that helps you is definitely worth it (stores/characters), but the decorations are out of hand. The Jewel Store, Coffee Shop, Lobster Shanty - all great deals. Jake, Til Death, Buzz, Consuela - again all well priced (well Buzz could be a little less). I do feel the limited structures are a little overpriced though. 100 clams for a tent? 100 clams for a guess-your-weight game? Again overpriced decorations. I have 245 clams - I'd still rather get 5 and get Buzz and miss out on Peter's Costume. That's just too expensive for some limited time decor. The generators were 75 donuts, was a much better deal to get 3/5 of a box daily throughout the event.
