I won't be using Google Glass or something similar until the technology has been used more, and the companies that develop them have a better understanding of how it should best be used. From a science fiction / philosophical viewpoint I really like the idea though. It's sorta the first step towards a human-machine or bio-digital synthesis - which is in my opinion the only logical next step in evolution. Another reason I don't intend on using Google Glass (or similar technologies brought on the market in the coming year(s)), is because of me thinking of Google Glass as the VCR in this particular evolutionary ladder.. I'm more into Nano Technology and its infinite possibilities. If anyone is interested in this I recommend checking out this young professor/writer guy Ramez Naam.  |
