How long this game will live?

Take note my english isn't perfect...

I remember the last Family Guy online game. Really fun but it suffer a lack of updates. After a few months it disappears, players got their two last months of premium stuff refunded and the game fall in limbo because it was online only.

Now about this game, how long you expect it to last? Even if the game can be a long monetary success, they're can be other troubles like time-limited licensing.
It's not a question i usually care, but because it need to be always online, the day it will stop will be the day it will be inaccessible forever.  And because of the last mmo, i doubt we will get an offline patch at the end.

We'll it really depends on a combination of factors.

1. The amount of updates, levels, events, etc.
2. Advertisement it's very important to the game, (keep bringing new customers constantly)
3. How the players react to the game in terms of deciding to spend real cash on the game.
4. Social networks are a big influence in the game itself (word of mouth)



Some games that go off line, usually give a "Patch" so you can still play on your device, but do not give updates or support.

Likely a long time. With a lot of games the license exclusivity may run it, but not it's right to use it overall. Depends the contract they made, maybe Family Guy creators get a portion of the game. And I wouldn't be surprise if the game itself isn't as advertisement for the show and eventually used to push shows through content

I think it'll be a while since they can add so much to the game and also hold many events. There's also a large amount of interest in the game, which means lots of people play and will continue to do so. The only reason I would stop playing this game would be if they stopped releasing updates
