Paywall?

Ok so I'm up to the drunken clam and one of the missions for it is to make that snooty guy drink at the clam. He costs 150 clams or you can pay ten clams to skip it. So did I really just hit a paywall? I have a feeling this is optional but even so there should not be a paywall anywhere in the game all premium items should be optional. So is there anyway around this without paying clams?

Are you sure the action is available, you might just have to wait.

I didnt buy anyone at that point and didnt skip the task either. From what I can see there are several ways to complete the task, you dont need to perform all the tasks just enough actions to get the required amount of stuff needed for that quest, some options give you a greater chance of getting the stuff is all. So for example buying the premium character would probably get you the stuff instantly, whereas you may need to send a free character on the task a couple of times before the stuff appears.

Kinda but basically each material has a different chance (rare, common,uncommon, etc.) but yea it gives you the list of the actions that have a chance of giving you the items you can also buy it for clams
