Make sure to deactivate your mobile data transfer (3G etc.) if you are on an iPhone. WLAN should be your only connection to the Internet.

Then just start your game and look for the task you want to be completed. Swipe up your iPhone toolbar from the bottom of the screen and deactivate your WLAN. Then complete the Task. If your wished Item dropped activate your WLAN again and enjoy. If not close the app and try again. Hope this answered your questions.

Hi !!!! This is a great tip!! I wonder if this would've worked on all of the TSTO "things"....
I finally was able to do all of the steps in the right order yesterday LOL Got a few things including the last seashell
But now my last 4 attempts have failed. After force close and back to game with wifi on the character or building just is ready for the next job.
I'm hoping this is just my dumb luck and not some fix of some kind!!
Anyone else have this happen today?

I admit it. I cheated. I got the last eyeball on the 3rd round of doing this technique. I was going to repeat for the bathtub, but surprisingly Bonnie dropped it on the original first clear - so I had to scramble to get the wi-fi back on! So now Anime Peter is finally unlocking Tricia - but unless Anime Peter drops idols, his quest line is being put on permanent hold. It's so weird to see Peter having a huge 0 items to earn for once (got my last gun last night). Just need 3 whips for Adventure Peter - should have tried the technique on those - but was running out of time to do it to get to work.

Yea him and all his costumes drop idols mermaid Peter drops 2x more and adventure Peter can drop bathtubs if needed

I think my game is glitched then, Adventure Peter is dropping less than Mermaid Peter.  Peepants has a solid drop right if I remember right, especially that premium 4 hour task.  I used Mermaid Peter overnight when the costume was going since it had the highest 8 hour pay out.  I then compared them this morning.  

But you are right, I have him going for bathtubs since I want to get those out of the way while my inner tubs catch up.  Once both him and Bonnie are up in a few hours, I should only need 1 more.  I want to have Peter spam some idols out, since it seems really slow at the current time.  Lois has been spamming them since the event started.  Bruce and Jerome have helped since their task is item + idols for 1 hour.  Others have longer tasks so not as often since I still need lots of items.

Adventure Peter drops the normal rate even though they advertised him being able to earn 2x

Thanks to the cough cough "method", just knocked down another bath tub.  Peter will hit in an hour, and Bonnie should cap it 8 hours from now (they are out of sync since Adventure Peter had a 1 hour task story line).

Honestly, drop rate on items is something that long bothered me, so this little workaround made the game more enjoyable.

I probably wouldn't of had Cleveland by now if not for this trick
