I have around 300 clams and I am planning to buy one of the premium characters for the Halloween event.
Which one should I buy?

id say wait because they may be other premium characters
but i say pick alien because he cost less and helps with terror bones which a majority of the witches cauldron items need

Thus far, theres little between them, but I would sway more towards Predator. He can generate banshee tears, the hardest of the current 4 ingredients to generate. Predator and Alien both drop an invader-specific item (Ghost traps and Stink Bombs), and they each drop a brewing ingredient (Banshee Tears and Dog Bones). The latchers drop an ingredient for brewing, so traps are essential. The tears I am sure will be needed all the way to the end, as is perhaps the case with the dog bones, but there are loads of dog bones around, tons of characters drop them. This is not the case with the tears. The trick-or-treaters are easy to deal with, and there are at least 5 characters that can generate bombs for you, as well as buildings, so Alien's ability to generate them for you is pretty superfluous if I'm honest.
On that basis, so far, its quite unequivocally Predator. But as has been said, there may be more premium characters released, so if there is no time-limit on buying Predator, I'd hang on and see!

It is a very tough call tbh, both characters have their own traits and drop certain items
As Sequoia said, the predator has the ability to take out banshees and get the tears, which is harder to get than the terror dog bones the alien will get, however, the alien does drop stink bombs, and after his first task is complete you do get 12 stink bombs from him, the predator offers the opportunity to get traps for the poltergeist claws.
It is a really tough call to make, I have both, however, if you are only going to get one, I'm tempted to recommend the Alien because something tells me the trick or treater's may come into play for the last two challenges, and if that happens. It is wise to have as many characters that drop bombs as possible

Depends on which character you like more in the movies. I love the visual animation for the Predator and I root for him in the Alien vs. Predator movies. The Predator also seems to have a more interesting quest line. Getting the Alien though earns you 12 stink bombs at the end of Man's Best Friend quest line. Tough call. Either way, buy him soon to make full use of his vial earning and brew-item earning tasks.

Gotta love the alien queen deco. I think it's great that they voiced it with Bruce like from the cut scene.
